Book Review: MUDER..... WHO WROTE???

This is the least satisfying in the long line of MSW mysery stories. Despite an involving start, seeting the scene, the rest of the novel gets wrapped up in legal matters and seems to center around the trail lawyer of the story as opposed to our heroine Jessica. Instead, she's sidelined with what could possibly be considered a sub-plot while the Lawyer gets the majority of the action!!

Donald Bain has created in previous books, an excellent narrative, keeping true to the original TV series, regaularly using and refering to TV sidekicks Seth Haslett and Mort Metzger. Although these characters still appear, its almost like Bain's trying to force them in to some tense John Grisham-esque thriller and not a cozy little bedtime reading with 'old friends'.

I hope that Bain returns to form in the next MSW novel and ditches the 'legal speak' and returns to good ol' red-herrings and innuendo.
