Book Reviews of You: On A Diet: The Owner's Manual for Waist ManagementBook Review: Ok Diet Book Summary: 3 StarsI purchased this on the recommendation of my doctor. It is an easy read, the cartoons are cute. However, it really didn't tell me that much new. By eating more healthy foods and exercising more, we can all be in better shape.
Book Review: Very Inciteful Summary: 5 StarsThis book is full of all the information you will ever need on what happens to food when you ingest it. If only this information was taught in school, maybe obesity wouldn't be so out of control. I have always struggled with weight issues, comfort and love comes from food. Now I am more aware of the things that I need to put in my body, healthy nutrition, not junk. This book not only offers the idea of good food but tells you why it's so good for you. It offers recipes, that aren't complicated. I use to rely on artifical sweetners, not a good idea. I always wondered why I felt so hungry after using these sweetners. Well, what I learned is that our bodies don't know how to process them. Fresh fruit is the way to go. I reccommend this book very highly for anyone that needs to lose weight. Even reading it to help your children make good choices from a young age is a good idea. Even with the book weight loss is a struggle, but it helps to understand all about the food you put in your mouth. I am feeling more confident these days as I know now I am on the right track for shedding the pounds for good. Happy reading to all that decide to buy this book.....Don't lose hope!
Book Review: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Summary: 1 StarsI like Dr. Oz so I picked this book up at the library and dove in to it. It kept repeating the same thing over and over. We know you tried to diet and exercise before but you don't have good will power. It went on like this for many pages. I give up. I'm so glad I didn't buy this book.
Book Review: Staight-forward, enjoyable to read Summary: 4 StarsI really enjoy the Real Age docs. I have been a member of RealAge.com for a long! time. I purchased this book to learn more about how food is processed, and it's effects on your body. That's exactly what I received. If you are looking for a "diet" book, this isn't really it. There are no magic formulas or drop 15 pounds in a week tricks. It's just simple, straight-forward explanations of why your body does what it does. Full of great info!
Book Review: You: On A Diet: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management Summary: 4 StarsThis book is well written and entertaining yet informative. There are lots of diet books out there that just don't offer realistic long-term plans for weight loss. This book doesn't just illustrate a quick fix, it offers real advice for maintaining a healthy weight/size throughout your life.
