Book Review: Good book that gives advice on all personal finance areas

I realize that this book was written about 8 years ago, but I still think it is an excellent overview of all areas of personal finance. It also helps that the author shares his sense of humor throughout the book to keep things from getting too dry.
This book contains many topics I've read before such as the importance of spending less than you earn and how to get out of debt. Information that was new to me included: tax-advantage investing; importance of putting together a will, living will, living trust, etc; ways to go about estate planning; and annuities (including charitable annunities). This is the first book I've read that covers all of those areas and I learned quite a bit.
It was rather interesting to read this book several years after it was written as the author had some advice (such as not investing your 401k in company stock) that really rings true now (post-Enron!).
After reading the book I have put together a "to-do" list of actions I plan to take from things I learned. So, I think it was very, very useful. The book was not as detailed as some I've read, but it contained enough to provide useful, thought-provoking information. The author lists resources and websites where more information can be obtained, if needed. I will have to look for more recent books by this author to put on my TBR (to-be-read) list!
