This was exactly what I was looking for: real, sensible information from professionals not afraid to really talk to women about not gaining too much weight when pregnant and why (for your own and the baby's health).
This book does not pull punches or circle around the topic giving only vague advice. You get calorie-for-calorie, nutrition-per-foods advice on eating well enough to grow a perfectly healthy baby, while not clogging up your or your baby's body with excess fat.
The best part are the sample menus & weight gain by trimester information -- broken down for under, normal, and over-weight women. Simple really -- if you are already considerably over normal weight, you don't need to gain as much during your pregnancy as normal weight women; and the reverse if you are under weight, you need to gain more. And this book gives you daily calories, nutrition, supplements, and menu plans for each case.
