Book Reviews of Your Right to Be Beautiful: The Miracle of Raw Foods

Book Review: Great Book
Summary: 4 Stars

Tonya's book will inspire the reader to stay 100% raw. The recipes are very easy and delicious. There is also a chart to use to help erase winkles along with other advice on how to stop the clock of aging. I can't wait for her next book to be published.

Book Review: Great Health and Beauty Tips
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is full of great tips and information for good health which results in good looks. This is not a book of recipes but rather the authors story of how she turned her life and health around with a raw lifestyle and natural living. Very enjoyable.

Book Review: Help for menopose
Summary: 5 Stars

I admire this book very much because it makes me understand a lot of things that though I had knowledge of before but I could not applie for myself. I did not see all the facts together, I did not see correctly what the different kind of foods and chemicals do to ones body.
The book came to me at the time of my li9fe when I was struggling with the menopose and it gave me the graetest help regarding the symptoms of the menopose at last.
I started the rawfood diet as soon as I finished reading the book at first. I always read it just to keep and know its guidelines.
It is a wonderful help that it instructs you how to get started.
It also encourages you to be slow in absorbing the whole diet. It tells you how much 'Body knows best', so teaches you listen to your own feelings and adjust it to your own body requirements.
I loved in it that it had an immediate effect on me, following its suggestions.
Everything that it said so far turned out to be true in my case. I love that the book is very thorough, very well thought out of and takes time to explain everything accurately.
A very important feature of the book that it wants us to realise that health itself is beauty. To live healthily is the best aid for being beautyful.
I love its humour, its common sense approaches, and all the explanations what the rawfood diet does to different organs in our body.
Prior to this book I was a follower of the book of Dr. Ulrich Strunz, who tells one about so many important vitamins and minerals to use but does not tell how to use it, how to start it, and I felt I got lost in the many suggestions he gave though his was the best help before Ms Zavasta's book.
This book helped me to turn myself around.
I am on the diet for 6 months now and I am doing still only 75% because I still eat some cheese and soups, but giving up bread, milk and meat gave me a light complection, my joints are painfree and my back and my feet stopped ackinglately as well.
This is an incredible idea, and by Ms Zavasta's book believable, because she had some terribel ordeal in her life I feel I will be well again by her suggestions and then I will be wanting to be the most butyful of myself at my age (60)as well. In practice I see day by day the beneficial effect of the diet, I am feeling better and getting back to my original shape and I am not dieting now but decided to live gy its guidelines.
I hope the recipe book will follow soon and I will be able to buy it through Amazon.com
This book should be translated into German, because many people would benefit from it here as well.

Book Review: Huge disappointment
Summary: 2 Stars

Are you thinking about adopting raw food life style? Do you want to read a book that will convince and motivate you to do that? A book that will give you step-by-step instructions on how to break addiction to cooked food? Well, I was. And I didn't find what I was looking for in this book.
Obviously, the author did research, and from her writing it is clear that she is a highly educated and intelligent woman. Unfortunately, the book offers no practical advice about adopting raw food life style. Here is a brief summary of what is written here:
In first several chapters, you learn that the author was obsessed with becoming beautiful. In fact, the first chapter is titled: I will be beautiful or I will be dead. She also talks how most beauty books were written by women who were born beautiful and are therefore not competent to discuss achieving beauty. Next, she talks about how beauty is greatly appreciated and how, once you get it, you will be the object of much envy. Some weird Bible interpretations are mixed in, too.
Next, she devotes a whole chapter to write about how she opposes plastic surgery.
The eight chapter is the one I found inspiring. Here she writes how beauty is the natural consequence of health and how you cannot really be beautiful if you are not healthy.
In the following chapters, she attacks "the enemies" one by one: the meat, the cooking, milk, sugar, salt, cigarettes, bread, the medical profession in general. I was particularly disappointed in chapter about cigarettes. I have quit smoking last year after being a smoker for almost 10 years and was expecting to read how will eating raw food help my body and especially lungs cleanse themselves faster and better. Instead, I felt like she was judging me - almost as if she wrote: "serves you right".
Next she talks about juicing, fasting and exercise but doesn't go into any depth.
Finally, she gives you a few recipes and a list of resources.
So not what I was expecting and what was advertised...

Book Review: Huh? Yikes!
Summary: 1 Stars

I have not finished this book yet but so far I think this woman is a nut. Referring to grocery store shelves as morgues for "dead" food. That's just stupid and weird. No cooked food? None? Forget it, lady.
She has some good ideas but they are taken to the extreme.
