This is a wonderful book that fills in many of the logical gaps in the original fairy tale. Napoli has crafted a story that just makes sense, even in its supernatural elements. The voice of Mother is stong and mesmerizing; Zel's gradual descent into madness is both chilling and heart-rending. I loved this book.
