Book Review: Promised much but failed to take it to the finish

Very disappointing. The reviews and adverts in Velonews promised much for this book. The reputation of the author promised much. The book never delivered.It proved to be demeaning to anyone considering advanced maintenace. If you need to be told a wrench is a wrench then Campag 8, 9 or 10 speed is way beyond your capabilities. I thought I would receive a practical book on road bike maintenance. What arrived was was a cub scouts guide to destroying their school bike. I think that anyone relying on this book should leave their bikes to the experts. It will be far more cost effective. I will never buy a book by the author, or recommended by Velonews again.
